Francis Marion Clifton Family

Francis (Frank) Marion Clifton was born 22 Jul 1849 in Mississippi. His wife in this photo, Mary Jane Boren was born 4 June 1861 in Wise County, Texas. They were married on 21 May 1876 in Parker County, Texas. They had 12 children.

He died 10 January 1929 in Roaring Spring, Texas. Mary or Molly as she was also known died 10 Sep 1933 in Roaring Springs, Texas. They are buried in the Roaring Springs Cemetery.

He was a farmer who was purchased school land from the state. Land records are on-line at http://wwwdb.glo.state.tx.us/central/LandGrants/LandGrantsWorklist.cfm His oldest son James Benjamin (JB) Clifton (our ancestor) is also on the list of land records.

I am assuming from age of the adults in the photo these are their grandchildren.

There is a post at http://genforum.genealogy.com/cgi-bin/pageload.cgi?Isaiah::clifton::1558.html that claims Francis Marion Clifton had en earlier marrige to a woman named Rebecca and they had two children. The mother and children were reportedly killed by Indians. I do not know if this is a fact or one of those family yarns.

Uterus Upside Down Bevo Head

This is the best photo of the inverted bevo head I've seen.

Boomer

This is Boomer on a fall Saturday afternoon in her Sooner gear. She is being held by her pet, Danielle.
The Boominator is a miniature dachsund and she especially likes away games since she gets a better opportunity to snitch scraps of food during the excitement of the game.
Her favorite tune is Boomer Sooner! You can listen to it here:
After each Sooner score she gets to hear a lot of "Boomer" chants which excites her even more. Then she gets chased around the house for a kiss.
